On 14 March 2018, FTI Consulting and ArbitralWomen will hold an evening panel discussion on the theme “Male, Female or simply ‘Expert’: What does it take to be an expert?” The discussion will revolve around three questions: What makes a good expert: does gender matter? Why do we see so few female experts? How can we remedy this issue? 

The London Centre of International Law Practice will hold its third annual conference on Energy Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in the Middle East and Africa on 6 and 7 March 2018, hosted at Herbert Smith Freehills and under the direction of Brandon Malone (Co-Director - International Centre for Energy Arbitration).

ArbitralWomen (AW) is an international non-governmental organisation which brings together women practitioners active in all kinds of dispute resolution. I acted as AW’s Newsletter Director from 2014-2016 and am currently privileged to serve as an advisory member of the Board of Directors.

Mediation Awareness Week sees a number of events organised UK-wide to show how mediation can be used to resolve a wide range of conflicts and disputes.

The Faculty of Advocates will host an “Arbitration in Scotland” Conference in Edinburgh on 29 – 30 September 2017, at which Gillian Carmichael Lemaire will be speaking.
